Oyo SDGs To Partner Local Councils To Train Youths On Agric Entrepreneurship — Kunle Yusuf.

The Senior Special Assistant on SGDs to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon.Kunle Yusuf MON have revealed the plan of his office through the state government to partner local government on agric entrepreneurship in the state.

While featuring on a Popular radio program in ibadan on fresh fm “Situation Room” With Mayor Isaac Brown, monitored by TodaySplash, the governor’s aide dissect  the aims of the state government through his office to lift youths off the street to be more valuable for themselves and the state.

Commenting on the specifics of the oyo state  to meet the SDG 17 goals, He said oyo state is focusing on four major points agenda which includes Health, Agriculture, Youths Empowerment  and Security,  these agendas covers about nine of the 17 goals .

He also said the 2021 target of his office includes Primary Education, Primary Health care service, Youth Empowerment anf Support for Development Partners.

He reiterated that to achieve the 2021 goal, his office will partner SUBEB to upgrade primary schools in oyo state to SDG standard.

While commenting on security, Hon. Kunle Yusuf made it known that, by SDGs indices, oyo state is performing reasonably well, against the popular notion about security, SDGs access security on Health, Emotional Intelligence, Economy  in which the state is doing well, but operational security is what the state seems to be having challenges.

He also said, before the present administration, SDGs was crawling in the state but has now stood up and on track to achieve great  feats, part of what the office had put in place to enable the smooth running of his office is the inauguration of  Technical Desk Officers at each local government to provide statistics of activities to drive development in the state, also, the state ministry of budget and planning are working in collaboration with SDGs to bring up a State Development Plan to put the state on a road map to achieving the goals of development.

He also emphasise on the importance of agricultural development to of sustainable development, He said, If agriculture sector is developed, we would have accomplished seven of the seventeen goals of SDGs.
