Recovered from them were two single barrel cut to size pistols, a double-barreled cut-to-size gun, a locally-made revolver, a black locally-made pistol, two live and one expended cartridges, charm and amulets, catapult and weed suspected to be Indian hemp.
According to the police, they were found to have been responsible for kidnappings, gun running, rape and robbery in Oyo town and its environs.
Confirming the arrest when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adewale Osifeso said that marauding hoodlums were arrested in their hideout while planning to unleash another mayhem on innocent residents of the area.
Osifeso also disclosed that preliminary investigations carried out by the command revealed that they were members of Eiye Confraternity, and were on a quest to prove superiority to their rivals.
“Comprehensive investigations are ongoing, while efforts are being made to apprehend other fleeing members of the group,” the PPRO stated.
