As the 2023 elections draws near membership of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo Central Senatorial zone is set to grow astronomically as hundreds of members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and other opposition party members are set to decamp to the PDP.
According to a report made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the decampees will be received by the Oyo Central Senatorial candidate, Chief Oyebisi ilaka, the House of representatives candidates in the Senatorial District with party executives and leaders…
The statement quoted Ilaka as saying that ” The PDP is focused on good governance as well as accommodating and protecting the interest of members, including those that will be joining us soon from other political parties.
He urged the people of Oyo state, particularly residents of Oyo Central Senatorial zone to embrace the PDP, which through the present government led by Engr. Seyi Makinde has brought development in every sector of the state. I urge you to sustain the developmental projects of the PDP by giving your votes to our party and not to be deceived again by APC.”
The Oyo born Politician stated further “ We want to ensure that our people do not continue to grow in underdevelopment, and poor representation, and I am happy that those that will be decamping have come to this realization and are ready to partner with us to bring true dividends of democracy to our people”
The statement also noted that the Deputy Director General for the Oyo Central Senatorial District of Governor Seyi Makinde Re-election Campaign Organization, Hon. Chief Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji AKA OTOPE, will also be on ground to join Chief Ilaka and other party Chieftain to welcome the decampees.
The DG said that “PDP has remained a formidable party in the state and as such, will win all the positions in the next year’s general election, charged the PDP faithful to remain steadfast assuring them that the party will continue to address the challenges confronting the state and nation.
Otope reaffirmed that Engr. Seyi Makinde is a leader that God has been using to revive the economy of the state, he charged the PDP party faithfuls to embracing the members of the oppositions that will be in our midst soon.
The decampees from the opposition parties will be received by Chief Oyebisi Ilaka and other party Chieftain on Thursday 11th August, 2023 at the PDP Oyo Central Senatorial office.
