The Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka received hundreds of the opposition party members, who decamped to PDP In Lagelu local government.
Receiving the decampees at the Local Government Party Secretariat in Lalupon, the immediate past chief of staff to Oyo State Governor, said “with this development it’s evidently clear that the opposition party is shattered, members no longer want to be identify with it, he welcomed the decampees to the People’s Democratic Party, adding that Governor Seyi Makinde’s Sterling performance over the last three years, makes the decision of the decampees easy and PDP the only alternative in a better position to answer their political yearnings.
“I want to assure you all that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Umbrella is big enough to accommodate us all”, adding that they should all feel at home and work for the political success of their new abode. He assured them if elected to the Red Chambers, He will do everything within his capacity to ensure that Oyo central Senatorial District gets the representation it truly deserves.
The People’s Democratic Party Senatorial Chairman Hon. Muftau Ogunremi while addressing the decampees, commended them for their bravery, noting that have taken the right decision. he said, “choosing a party that has proven to the masses that governance is about the people is the wise decision to make rather than remaining in an uncertain political quagmire” he enjoined them to begin the work of recruiting more members for the election of all the People’s Democratic Party Candidates, He indicated further ” I am the happiest Man today, coming to Lagelu with Oloye Bisi ilaka and being welcomed by such crowd of party faithfuls is one that gladdens his heart “. He said the people of Lagelu have truly shown that they are the father of Ìbàdàn ( Lagelu Baba Ìbàdàn ). He was elated by the strength of the decampees.
In his brief remarks, Hon. Jide Adeniran who spoke on behalf of the decampees said they will work assiduously for the success of all PDP candidates.

Jide Adeniran, Chief Segun Ogunyemi, Alhaji MA Liadi, Mr. Olumide Sunday, Hon Gade Afolabi, Mr Adebayo Alao, Alhaji Rasheed Owolabi, Mr Samson Bada, Mr. Seye Fadare, Mrs. Taiwo Adeniran and other prominent leaders and their followers from the All Progressives Congress.
