Smiles were put on the faces of vulnerables in Ibarapa East Local Government, as the council boss, Hon.
Obalowo Olugbenga on Wednesday, empowered over 200 Constituents across 10 wards raging from Market Women, Artisan, Student and Stakeholders with millions of naira to improve their welfarism and increased the strength of their businesses sponsored.

The gesture was in line with Governor ‘Seyi Makinde’s agenda on good governance in the state and at the local government level.

The beneficiaries, totalling over two hundred (200) in number ranged from Market Women, Youths, Artisan, Aged people and Widows, who were given fifty thousand naira each.

While speaking at the empowerment programme, the local government helmsman, Hon. Obalowo, stated that he had considered the gesture imperative at this critical economic time that, hunger and poverty have been the order of the day and as a way that will ameliorate the effects of inflation, hunger and lack in the council area.

He said: “The state of things generally in the world is worrisome, but a responsible elected or appointed government’s representative must plan for ease of his people at all time.”

“Let me reiterate here that this is just a token, but I believe it will go along way to cushion the evil effect of inflation, naira scarcity among others.

Speaking with newsmen after the event at the local government Open Ground, Obalowo added the reasons behind the gesture is to empower constituents, with the belief that such will improve their small businesses in the area.

He noted that he targeted youths, aged and widow covering same percentage on gender, stressing that the target population remains the background of any society, which when not well taken care of will worsen economy and socio-political status of the country.

“The target population is 190 including youths, aged and widows spreading across the major sex, male and female, to avoid controversies and sentiments”

“We believe the empowering fund will go along way such as use for tuition fees, payment of rents, and setting up of small businesses by the teeming population in our target including youths, old and widows,” he added.

In the meantime, Hon. Obalowo applauded Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde for approving the release of funds for empowerment in the area with the carefully selected population.

Obalowo appealed to the entire citizens to massively vote for Seyi Makinde in his second term bid in order for good dividends of democracy to be more abound across the state.

“The empowerment programme is not left out of the governor’s armbit, otherwise, this might not be possible”

“We are sincerely canvassing votes for second term bid of Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde tagged “omituntun 2.0″ which undoubtedly will increase and extend good dividends of democracy to every citizen of Oyo state, and this should be made possible on Saturday March 18th 2023 by voting for all candidates of PDP from the governor to all the Oyo House of Assembly Candidates , and never to give room for rebuilding of Egyptian strongholds in the state,” Obalowo posited
