Dreaming for a Better and Stronger Nigeria: Governor Makinde’s Call to Action on Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary
Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, urges Nigerians to envision and strive for a brighter future as the nation commemorates its 63rd independence anniversary.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde encourages all Nigerians to focus on the immense possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead, rather than being daunted by the challenges that exist. He emphasizes the need to prioritize the nation and unite in rebuilding it, as it is the only way to achieve greatness.
“On this momentous occasion of Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary, I extend my warm congratulations to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all Nigerians,” Governor Makinde expresses.
He acknowledges that Nigeria’s journey has been arduous and fraught with difficulties, but firmly believes that the present provides an opportunity to rectify past mistakes.
Governor Makinde states, “Instead of being overwhelmed by the challenges, let us be driven by the possibilities. Rather than surrendering to despair, let us dare to dream of a better and stronger Nigeria.”
He envisions a Nigeria where tribal, religious, or ideological differences hold no sway, where both the rich and the underprivileged thrive, where hard work is rewarded and laziness is discouraged, where unemployment is scarce, where no child is left without education, and where the nation attracts exceptional talent. This is the Nigeria we should be proud to leave as a legacy for future generations.
Governor Makinde calls upon all citizens to join hands in the pursuit of Nigeria’s greatness. He believes that by working together, a remarkable and prosperous Nigeria is within our reach. It is time to place Nigeria first and collectively forge a new path towards national excellence.
“Happy 63rd Independence Anniversary, Nigerians,” Governor Makinde concludes.
