The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial district, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka on Monday visited his council area, Oyo East local government general meeting, to interact and strategize with Party members ahead of the 2023 general election.
The event which took place at Jabata Primary School, Oyo had in attendance Party Leaders, and members across the ten wards.
While speaking at the meeting Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka noted, ” I am happy to be in your midst today, this council remains the foundation of my political sojourn, this is not a political campaign, but a meeting to start my visitation across the 11 senatorial district right here from my local government as well as to have dialogue, and engage with community elders on how we can use their experience to drive the accomplishment of our objectives.
Ilaka also appreciated all women wings, youths and members for their commitments to not just the party but his Senatorial ambition. He thanked them for their support and also reiterated his readiness to do all that is necessary within the law to ensure that he emerges as the Senator representing Oyo Central.
Ilaka who is the Ladilu of Oyo kingdom, also Pleadged to offer the people of Oyo Central a representation at the Red Chamber aimed to not only correct the errors of the past, but to also provide solutions to the present obstacles and challenges faced by residents of Oyo central senatorial district.
While receiving Decampees from the All Progressive Congress and Africa Democratic Congress, Ilaka charged the Party to accommodate more decampees to the party as PDP remains the credible alternative to save the country from the present economic and security meltdown.
The highlight of the meeting was Hon. Sakiru Ojo PDP Chairman in Oyo East local government, and Chief Bisi Ilaka Oyo Central Senatorial candidate, who received hundreds of decampees into the Party on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde and Chief Dayo Ogunbenro state Chairman PDP from the All Progressive Congress (APC) led by Mr. Raheem Abdullah, Hon Adejinmi Saheed, Muhammed Bento, Mustapha Sakiru and African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Alhaji Wasiu Badmus, who led their supporters to join the PDP
