The Oluyole Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Akeem Olatunji (SARSINO), Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, has kicked off the OMI TUNTUN 2.0 Free Holiday Coaching Program for secondary school students.
The program is scheduled to run from August 12 to September 6, 2024, offering educational support to students from JSS-1 to SS3 across multiple centers within the local government.
The initiative, which falls under the broader “Omi Tuntun 2.0” agenda, is designed to provide free academic coaching during the holiday period, ensuring that students remain academically engaged and are better prepared for the upcoming academic session.
The program is a testament to the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to improve the quality of education in the state, as reflected in his numerous educational reforms.
Speaking on the significance of the program, Toheeb Yusuf, the Supervisory Counselor for Education, Oluyole Local Government, highlighted the critical role of the initiative in fostering educational development in the region.
“The OMI TUNTUN 2.0 Free Holiday Coaching is not just a program but a commitment to the future of our children. We are providing them with the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond,” Yusuf stated.
The coaching centers are strategically located across the local government to ensure accessibility for all students. The selected centers include:
- Muslim Grammar School, Odinjo
- Prospect High School, Abanla
- Molete High School, Ologede, New Garage
- Olunde Community Secondary School, Jogbin
Yusuf further emphasized the importance of the program in leveling the educational playing field for students in the area. “We are ensuring that no student is left behind, regardless of their background. This initiative is about empowering our youths and setting them on a path to academic excellence,” he added.
The launch of the free holiday coaching program has been met with widespread enthusiasm from parents, students, and the general public. It represents a significant step forward in the local government’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational opportunities and outcomes for the youth of Oluyole Local Government.
