The candidate of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in person of Amb. Taofeek Arapaja has defeated the candidate of the former governor of Ekiti camp, Ayodele Fayose in person of Dr. Eddy Olafeso in the keenly contested election.
According to the chairman if the congress monitoring commitee, the following result was announced :

Voided Votes -. 10
ARAPAJA – 343
EDDY – 330
Jubilation is ongoing as the announcement was made as the Fayose have accepted the outcome of the congress.
