Hon. Akeem Ayoade, the Political Head and Administrator of Aare Latosa LCDA, has praised the proactive measures implemented by Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to prevent a cholera outbreak in Oyo State. Ayoade’s commendation comes in the wake of rising cholera cases in other states, which have resulted in numerous fatalities.
In his statement, Hon. Ayoade lauded the state government’s swift actions aimed at forestalling the spread of the highly contagious disease. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the preventive measures introduced by the state government, noting that cholera can be contracted through contaminated food, drinks, and unsanitary environments.
Hon. Ayoade urged residents of Aare Latosa LCDA and the entire Oyo State to comply strictly with the government’s guidelines to avoid an outbreak. He advised parents to ensure their children do not buy food or drinks from roadside vendors and to encourage regular hand washing with soap and running water or the use of hand sanitizers.
Hon. Ayoade called on all relevant agencies to be vigilant and ensure that treatment kits are readily available in all healthcare facilities in case of any reported incidents. He stressed the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and keeping a clean and healthy environment in homes, schools, offices, and markets to prevent the spread of cholera.
“The efforts of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, in averting a cholera outbreak in Oyo State are highly commendable,” said Ayoade. “It is crucial that we all adhere to these preventive measures to protect our communities and loved ones from this deadly disease.”
In addition to his call for public compliance, Ayoade reiterated the need for collective responsibility in maintaining environmental cleanliness and personal hygiene. He emphasized that these practices are essential in safeguarding the health and well-being of the people of Oyo State.
The proactive steps taken by Governor Makinde’s administration, coupled with the cooperation of the public, aim to ensure that Oyo State remains cholera-free and that the health of its citizens is preserved.
