The Aare Latosa LCDA Political Head and the Vice Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Ayoade Akeem, marked his 100 days in office with an impactful empowerment program aimed at supporting the residents of Ibadan North. The event, held at the Registry Hall of Ibadan North, saw the distribution of cash empowerment and Point of Sale (POS) machines to numerous beneficiaries, as part of a broader initiative to boost financial independence and entrepreneurship within the community.
The highlight of the event was the presence of the Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. Mrs. Toyin Balogun, who delivered a powerful message to the beneficiaries. In her address, she urged them to make the most of the opportunity, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the resources provided to improve their livelihoods. She further pledged to closely monitor the progress of those who excel in their ventures, offering additional support to ensure their sustained success.
“The empowerment initiative is not just about financial aid, but about giving you the tools and opportunity to transform your lives,” Hon. Balogun remarked. “We are committed to seeing that those who thrive in these businesses receive continuous support and guidance to grow their enterprises.”
The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Hon. Julian, Special Assistant and Woman Leader of Ibadan North; Hon. Alaba; Alhaji Mustapha, Party Vice Chairman Ibadan North; Hon. Deji, Youth Leader of Ibadan North; Hon. Agboluaje Don D; and Hon. Mayowa, alongside members of the local council and supervisory councilors. Also present were the Leader of the House and councilors, Special Assistants, as well as all women and youth leaders within Ibadan North.
In his remarks, Hon. Ayoade Akeem expressed his gratitude to the residents and stakeholders for their continued support over the past 100 days. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of the people, particularly through strategic empowerment initiatives that enhance economic opportunities for individuals and families within the local government.
