The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government has settled for unity and stability as Alhaji Oladapo Moruf emerged the consensus chairman of the party ahead of its forthcoming congress.
His emergence followed extensive consultations among key stakeholders and leaders of the party in the local government, who unanimously adopted him as the preferred candidate in the spirit of cohesion and progress.

The local government Congress held on Saturday September 20 at the Methodist High School, Toll Gate, Ibadan.
Earlier, the outgoing party chairman,Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola stated that five other aspirants initially vying for the chairmanship seat stepped down after due deliberations and pledged their support for Alhaji Moruf, describing the move as a sacrifice for the greater interest of the PDP family in Oluyole.

“By the power conferred on me by the Constitution of our great party as the chairman in Oluyole local government, who is also outgoing, I hereby announce Alhaji Oladapo Moruf as the new chairman of PDP in Oluyole.” Alhaji Adegbola said.
Speaking shortly after the announcement, Alhaji Moruf expressed gratitude to the leaders and members of the party for the confidence reposed in him. He assured that his leadership would promote inclusiveness, discipline, and grassroots mobilization to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

“I deeply appreciate this gesture of trust and unity. My commitment is to serve the party selflessly, foster peace, and build on the achievements of past leaders to ensure that PDP continues to remain a formidable force in Oluyole,” he said.
Stakeholders present commended the peaceful consensus arrangement, noting that it reflected the maturity and resilience of PDP in the local government. They added that the unity move would further consolidate the dominance of the party in Oluyole and beyond.
With this development, the PDP in Oluyole LG is set to present Alhaji Oladapo Moruf as its chairman at the forthcoming congress, marking a new chapter of leadership and collective resolve for the party.
