The Oyo State Government has reaffirmed its stance in stamping out the culture of begging and providing a healthy environment. The government announced that it had evacuated nine beggars along General Gas bridge at Akobo road in Ibadan while those evacuated have been taken to rehabilitation centers in the State. Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday, recorded another incident of a mob setting fire on one suspected armed robber. The mob pounced on the two suspected persons after they lost control of the motorcycle they rode on while making away with a phone and other valuables robbed from one Adebayo Tobi. Oyo Government State has approved a draft bill to reflect the new ownership structure of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Prof Oyelowo Oyewo, has said. The Oyo state house of assembly has passed the new budget appropriation of N273.7 into law. The governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde had initially proposed a total budget sum of N266.6 billion for 2021 fiscal year but was reviewed upward by the Oyo state house of assembly to the sum of N273.7 billion.
