The Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo Central Senatorial District in the recently concluded national elections, Chief Bisi Ilaka, yesterday met his senatorial campaign council committee, local government coordinators, Ilaka Mandate groups and Ilaka Ambassadors charging them to work assiduously for the success of governor Makinde in the March 11 gubernatorial election in the state.
Ilaka gave this charge at a stakeholders meeting with his campaign committee members, his local governments coordinators and other stakeholders of his political family, while dispelling rumors making rounds that the governor was culpable in the unfortunate outcome of the elections, noting that ” we all gave our best in the elections, however the outcome was far from our expectations, though we are still studying the results released by INEC, it is not appropriate for us to engage in blame games at this time, rather we should go into the March 11 elections as a formidable team”.
He said further that just like every other Party Member the governor gave his best to see that the Party emerges victorious therefore it is mischievous to blame the governor for the poor showing”.

Ilaka who is also the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom emphasised that they should not pay attention to the rumour been spread by members of the opposition who wants the PDP to go into the March 11 elections as a divided house. Let’s work hard and ensure that governor Seyi Makinde continues the good work he has started.
He urged them not to be disheartened by last poll results and should transverse the length and breath of Oyo Central Senatorial district to ensure Makinde’s victory on 11th of March, 2023 gubernatorial election.
The meeting which was held at Subomi Hall Conference Room, University of Ibadan was will attended.Ilaka appreciated the efforts of his campaign council members, Mandate Group and Ilaka Ambassadors for their efforts before and during the elections. He rallied them to go out and campaign massively for governor Seyi Makinde,
The Oyo born lawyer and tax consultant stressed that Engr Seyi Makinde’s reelection will be of immense importance to the future of Oyo State, He said “Oyo State will not go back to the years of the locusts , Makinde has brought hope and prosperity to the State, all zones have benefitted from his first term, these dividends can only continue under Omituntun 2.0 “
He added “I urge you all to forget the past, let’s ensure his victory by all means within the confinement of the laws, He assured that “I will fight for you your interest under Omituntun 2.0. We must ensure Engr Seyi Makinde triumph across units, wards and local government areas in the state.” Ilaka added.
Mrs. Iyabo Ponle leader of the Mandate group in her remarks assured Ilaka of their readiness to work for Engr Seyi Makinde reelection. She said; “we’ have align with your demand, your agreement must be solid with Gov. Makinde, though we have our reservations with regards to the what played out in the last elections, however, we will heed to your request since you’ve assured us that you will fight for our interest.”
Also, Mr. Ogunbunmi from Surulere added that, together we can reshape the future of our state and build a brighter tomorrow for our children, We will support the Ladilu of Oyo’s advice to mobilize across units, wards and local government for Makinde’s re-election.
The meeting which was well attended by by members of the Ilaka Campaign Council, Mandate group, the 11 local governments coordinators in Oyo Central Senatorial district and other affiliated groups.
Also in attendance are Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji (Wabkem), Hon Sumbo Owolabi Mrs. Onilenla Rafiyat, Iyabo Ponle, Prince Adebowale Falana and several others.
