In a bid to empower and equip young minds with cutting-edge technology skills, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makajuola, the Member representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, has commenced a five-day training and empowerment program focused on VSAT Application and Mass Awareness Satellite Technology. The training, which started today, aims to provide participants with essential knowledge in security, disaster management, emergency response, remote sensing, television, and telecommunication technologies.

The program, organized in partnership with Nigcomsat Limited, is tailored for selected youths across the Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency. It offers them a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in satellite-based technologies, which are increasingly critical in today’s interconnected world.


Although Hon. Ojo Sunday Makajuola, popularly known as Smato, was unable to attend the event in person, he was ably represented by Hon. Rahman Okunlola, who delivered his address on his behalf. In his message, Hon. Makajuola emphasized that the initiative is part of his commitment to ensuring that the youths of his constituency are not left behind in the digital revolution.

“This training is designed to equip our youths with the technical skills needed to thrive in various fields. We are in a world where technology rules, and empowering our youths with these skills will not only help them secure better jobs but also contribute to national development in areas such as security and disaster management,” Hon. Okunlola conveyed in his address.
The program covers a wide range of topics, including satellite applications in telecommunications, emergency response strategies, and remote sensing technologies. Experts from Nigcomsat Limited are facilitating the training, providing in-depth insights into the practical applications of these technologies.
Participants expressed gratitude to Hon. Makajuola for the opportunity, noting that the training will significantly boost their employability and technical know-how.
