The 11 Local Government chairpersons in Ibadan on Thursday held a security meeting at the Ibadan North East Local Government secretariat to deliberate and fashion out a long-lasting solution to the incessant killings of residents in the state especially in the Ibarapa area of the state.
The council bosses, after considerations on the current state of insecurity in the country, consequently agreed to synergize, cooperate with other LG Chairmen, traditional rulers, Baales, Mogajis as well as concerned stakeholders to secure the lives and properties of Ibadan residents.
The Chairmen also urged residents in the state to go about their lawful businesses and provide timely and accurate information to security outfits in the state to help ward off the invasion of bandits, killer herders and other peace disturbers.
“Security of lives and property in Oyo state remains one of the cardinal pillars of the Engr. Seyi Makinde administration and a lot of investments have been heavily committed into the security apparatus in the state.”
“As part of the mandate given to the newly elected local government Chairmen in the state, it was imperative for the Chairmen in Ibadan to meet on initiatives to deploy in complementing the state government’s effort in securing the state,” they said.
The chairmen revealed their intention to urgently organize a security summit, which is expected to involve all stakeholders in the security sector soon.
The chairmen used the occasion to sympathize with the Chairman and the people of Ibarapa North for the unfortunate loss of lives and property in the recent attacks on Igangan community by some unknown Gunmen.
Also, the group declared their support for the Seyi Makinde-led administration and assured him of their utmost support to consolidate the good works he has started in the state.

Sheriff Adeojo, Ona Ara LG Chairman – Hon. Musibaudeen Sanusi Shaba, Hon Shuaib Oladayo Ibadan North LG.
