The Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has showered praises on Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for what he calls the People’s Democratic Party’s “strength of internal-democracy.” The remarks come on the heels of the PDP’s just-concluded state congress, a process Kamorudeen hailed as a “democratic”.
Speaking on Monday, Kamorudeen didn’t hold back, declaring, “Governor Makinde has shown the world how it’s done! The PDP in Oyo State is a shining example of what democracy should be—open, inclusive, and powered by the people, not the elites. Nobody does it better!” The chairman’s statement underscores Governor Makinde’s leadership in steering the PDP through a seamless series of ward, local, and state congresses, culminating in the election of new state executives ahead of 2027.

The congress, held in Ibadan, saw the PDP flex its organizational muscle, with Kamorudeen lauding the party’s ability to unite its ranks while others falter. “Look around—other parties are crumbling under their own weight, but the PDP? We’re stronger than ever,” he boasted, taking a subtle jab at opposition party in the state, which has faced criticism for internal disarray.
Chairman Kamorudeen also extended a hearty congratulations to the newly elected PDP state executives, calling them “the best of the best, chosen by the will of the people.” He urged them to hit the ground running, saying, “You’ve got the mandate, now let’s make Oyo State unstoppable!”
