In a bid to enhance its academic offerings and fulfill its mandate, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, under the leadership of Prof Razaq Kalilu, the acting Vice Chancellor, has introduced six new degree programmes.
The announcement was made during the grand finale of the university’s 16th convocation ceremony, held at the Great Hall of the institution in Ogbomoso.
Prof Kalilu emphasized the institution’s commitment to evolving academic trends and meeting the vision set forth by Governor Seyi Makinde. He highlighted the establishment of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences a year prior, which offered four academic programmes.
Building on this foundation, the university has introduced six additional degree programmes within the Faculty. These include Psychology, Mass Communication, Linguistics, Yoruba, Theatre Arts, and Political Science. Additionally, a Faculty of Law has been established to offer a degree program in law.
This expansion reflects LAUTECH’s dedication to providing diverse educational opportunities and staying abreast of evolving academic demands.
