In a move aimed at strengthening fire safety and emergency response in Oyo State, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has appointed Hon. Moruf Akinwande as the Special Adviser on Fire Service Reforms and Chairman of the state’s Fire Services Agency.
The announcement, contained in an appointment letter released on Monday, takes immediate effect. Akinwande, a former Member of the House of Representatives who represented Oyo West/Oyo East/Afijio/Atiba Federal Constituency, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to this critical role.
Prior to this appointment, Akinwande served as the Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation from 2022 to 2023, where he was commended for his innovative leadership and commitment to service delivery.
Governor Makinde’s decision underscores his administration’s dedication to improving fire safety standards and ensuring swift emergency responses across the state.
