Every four years, candidates from all political parties make similar promises, and I expect this year will be no different. All of them running for senatorial seat will travel around the Oyo central senatorial district and make grand speeches; all of them will trumpet those qualities they believe make them uniquely qualified.
However, too many times often than not after the elections are over, all these promises fade from memory, and the lobbyists and the special interests move in. And people turn away, disappointed as before, left to struggle on their own.
That is why Chief Oyebisi Ilaka campaign will not only be about Him, it will be about all the people in Oyo central senatorial district, it will be about what we can do together. It will be the occasion, the vehicle, of your hopes, and your dreams. It will take your time, your energy, and your advice – to push us forward when we’re doing right, and to let us know when we’re not. His campaign will be be about bringing quality representation on board, and restoring our sense of common purpose.
The time is now to shake off our slumber, and swim out of our fears, it is high time we bring Bisi Ilaka on board. Not just to hold an office, but to work with you all to transform a nation by influencing good economic policies through the National Assembly.
It is on record that Chief OYEBISI ILAKA has always been a reliable fellow in his dealings with others, especially on matters of state and national interests.
