The Chairman of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, Hon. Ademola Omotosho, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his family over the loss of the governor’s eldest brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde.
Engr. Sunday Makinde, aged 65, passed away in the early hours of Friday, January 24, 2025, at his residence in Ibadan. The sad news was announced by Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and Head of the Aigbofa Family of Oja’ba, who described the death as sudden and deeply painful.

In his condolence message, Hon. Omotosho acknowledged the immense loss to the Makinde family, noting the late Engr. Sunday Makinde’s legacy of humility and dedication. He also extended prayers for strength and comfort for Governor Seyi Makinde, the entire Makinde family, and all who are mourning the loss.
“The death of Engr. Sunday Makinde is a great loss not just to the family but to all who were touched by his warmth and kindness. I pray that God grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grants the departed eternal rest,” Hon. Omotosho stated.
Engr. Sunday Makinde is survived by his siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, his children, and grandchildren.
