The Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held a crucial Working Committee Meeting on October 16, 2024, at the PDP Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan, where key resolutions were passed, focusing on the continued leadership of the party and upcoming senatorial engagements.
In the resolutions, the Oyo State PDP expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Oyo State and Leader of the South West PDP, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering support and encouragement to the party in the state. The leadership particularly lauded the Governor’s backing since the inception of the current PDP State Executive, acknowledging the impact of his timely interventions.
The Working Committee of the PDP also used the opportunity to reaffirm their total support and loyalty to Governor Makinde’s leadership, underscoring their commitment to his vision for the party in the state and the region.
In a forward-looking decision, the party announced that uniform and simultaneous Senatorial Meetings will be held on November 6, 2024, across the three senatorial districts. The Oyo PDP leadership urged Senatorial Chairmen to take the planning seriously and called for the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the success of these meetings. The scheduled locations are as follows:
- Oyo North: Saki West Local Government
- Oyo South: Ido Local Government
- Oyo Central: Oyo East Local Government
Additionally, the party extended gratitude to its leaders, elders, political functionaries, and critical stakeholders for their constant motivation and encouragement, which have contributed to the party’s stability and growth in Oyo State.
Lastly, the PDP expressed solidarity with the people of Oyo State who have been affected by what they described as the “maladministration and evil governance” of the APC at the national level.
The meeting’s resolutions were signed by the PDP State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, on behalf of the party leadership.
