Some armed thugs have been arrested in Osogbo, Osun State capital, by men of the Joint Task Force.
The armed thugs were reportedly sent disrupt the forthcoming People’s Democratic Party’s Zonal Congress scheduled to hold in Osogbo on Monday.
The gang leader, identified as Tiri Olowoposi and his men were apprehended by the Police force with live ammunitions.
Reports have it that they were arrested at an hotel occupied by a leader of the Party, Chief Adebisi Olopoeyan, by men of the Joint Task Force.
Narrating his experience, an anonymous member of the party said, “The boys went to the hotel to ask for food, then Olowoposi and his boys came and rounded them up. But, fortunately Policemen got to know about the illegal arrest and went to rescue them at the hotel. On sighting the arrival of policemen the thugs led by Olowoposi and his boys wanted to run but they were overpowered and arrested. They had in their possession, arms and ammunitions such as pump action and they had charms all over their bodies”.
