Yoruba Nation Agitator Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has reiterated his readiness to lead a ‘Yoruba Nation’ protest in Lagos.
The Nation reports Igboho is expected to storm Lagos on Saturday July 3 alongside other agitators for the Yoruba Nation rally.
But Lagos police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said he is not aware of the rally.
“I am not aware of Sunday Igboho’s planned Lagos rally. When the Command is aware, the Command will react to that. For now, we are not aware of that,” he said
Igboho, who spoke through one of his media aides, Onaolapo Omiyale Ademola in the now-viral video obtained by The Nation, stated that nothing will change the stipulated date for the rally.
Omiyale, who is also CEO of Isokan Omo Odua TV, added that it is going to be a ‘mega’ rally.
The Nation previously reported Igboho had vowed to proceed with the planned Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos not minding the security threats.
Reacting to the plea from All Progressives Congress (APC), UK Chapter, to shelve the planned rally billed for July 3, Igboho described it as laughable.
The Nation reports chairman of APC UK, Dr Phillip Idaewor, in a statement last week said there were other ways for the group to channel their agitations rather than engage in a rally that might be hijacked by hoodlums to unleash terror on Lagos residents.
But Ighoho reacted saying the pro-Yoruba Nation protesters had held similar peaceful rallies across some southwest states including Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti noting that hoodlums cannot hijack the protest.
