Gunmen have attacked the Ado-Ekiti residence of Prof. Banji Akintoye, the leader of the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), The Nation has learnt.
The attack, which occurred over the weekend, was confirmed to The Nation by Akintoye’s spokesman, Maxwell Adeleye.
According to him, the gunmen scaled through on Saturday to access the compound.

He confirmed that Akintoye was not around when the incident occurred and no one was hurt but several bullets were seen in the compound.
He however noted that that the situation has since been reported to the Ekiti State Police Command for prompt investigation.
