The former Chief Of Staff to the governor of Oyo state, Chief Bisi Ilaka has expressed deep sadness at the passing away of Otunba Alao Akala, A one time governor of Oyo state.
In a statement made available to TODAY SPLASH from his media office, he described the death of Akala as unfortunate, coming at a time the state is still in die need of his wealth of experience in public service.
Part of the statement reads “My deepest condolences to the family of His Excellency, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, the good people of Ogbomosho, and Oyo State in general”
Ilaka who is also the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom noted ” My Egbon, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala’s remarkable impact in Public service before, during and after his time as the 6th democratically elected Governor of our dear state will never be lost in the sands of time.”
Ilaka, a Senatorial aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for Oyo Central Senatorial District ahead the forthcoming 2023 general election , stressed that the reign of Otunba Alao Akala as a PDP governor in Oyo state heralded meaningful developments across the length and breath of the state.
He prayed that the Almighty God gives the state, his political associates, loved ones and the country the courage, strength and fortitude to bear this monumental loss.
