The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Shina Peller, has threatened to join a new party if things don’t go as planned at the primaries of the All Progressives Congress.
Peller had earlier in the month declared to run for the Oyo North Senatorial District. He is currently set to go head-to-head with Fatai Buhari, the incumbent seeking a third term in office, at the party’s primaries next week.
However in a verified video, the lawmaker in a raised voice, told his close associates he is not afraid to decamp to a new party to realise his senatorial ambition.
“A ma lo new party, kode si nkan to ma sele,” the Iseyin-born politician said in the yoruba language in the video. (which loosely translates to: We’ll use a new party, and nothing will happen).
Peller also explained to his associates in the video that the dynamics of the electoral campaign in the country have changed because, unlike before, candidates now have about eight months to mobilise after the primaries.
