The operatives of Amotekun in oyo state have nabbed a woman Alhaja oluwakemi Akehisola 66 and Mr. Mathew Adaranijo, the CEO of Needle Point Limited, Challenge Ibadan for producing and distributing fake Amotekun uniform.
The arrest followed a confession of a suspect arrested for impersonating Amotekun was arrested and interrogated.
A team of Amotekun led by Comrade Kazeem Babalola made the arrest of the Alhaja Oluwakemi at Ido LGA where she was distributing the uniform to.middlemen.
She confessed to her crime and explained she has supplied samples of the Amotekun Corps’ Uniforms to some individuals in Oyo state. She however appealed to the authorities to temper justice with mercy.
On his part, Mr Adaranijo, confessed that he produced the fake kits, noting that he was reluctant to produce it when his accomplice introduced the business to him.
He, however, admitted that Alhaja Akehusola provided no evidence that she had been contracted to produce Amotekun Corps uniforms.
According to the Amotekun Corps, necessary machinery has been put in motion to hand over the suspects to the police for further investigations and prosecution.
It would be recalled that the Oyo State Government had earlier apprehended a middle-aged man who was allegedly impersonating recruitment officers of the regional security outfit in the state.
