The revolution has began, the Ilaka youth ambassador continues to break new grounds as it’s leadership Thursday inaugurated the Lagelu local government chapter of the movement.
At a well attended meeting, founder of Omituntun Benedict Akika Forum, the Agba Akin of Olorunda Chief Benedict Akika, Victor Olojede Special Assistant on Students Affairs to governor Seyi Makinde were among dignitaries present at the event.
Tolulope Adeyemi aka Oluwo the coordinator of the Ilaka ambassador in Lagelu, while welcoming the people assured of the group’s commitment to ensure that youths in all the wards in Lagelu are mobilize not only to vote Ilaka, but all PDP candidates. He however called for support to facilitate an INEC voters registration centre in Apantunpu community, as the closest registration centre is quite far.
Comrade Daud Temitope, DG Ilaka Ambassadors expressed delight with the turn out of Youths at the meeting, noting that the primary objective of the group is to embark on house to house Campaign for Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, the PDP Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central. He said further that the youth he will always be available to give support to the Ambassadors in Lagelu.
Hon. Adedeji Adekola, an ex officio member of the PDP in Lagelu in his remarks noted that Ilaka is a man of high integrity, who keeps his words.he called on the youth to mobilise for all PDP candidates, and also made certain of his support to the group.
Prince Falana Adebowale urged the Ilaka ambassadors to be committed and steadfast, stressing that the 2023 election is for youths, he said “It is the youth that will decide, and the Ilaka ambassadors are the youths that will decide which Party wins Lagelu local government”, he noted further that the present administration has given the youth opportunity to express their capabilities, and will continue to do so.
Falana also asserted that the leadership of Gov. Seyi Makinde has done a lot and will continue to do more to empower the youths.
Chief Benedict Akika, Ilaka Ambassador coordinator for Lagelu, Egbeda, Ona Ara, Akinyele,and Oluyole local governments. Promised to work with INEC to provide a voters registration centre in Apantunpu, moreso since INEC has situated a new polling unit in the community. He confirmed his support for the group and charged the Ambassadors to ensure that residents come out in their numbers to register, when the voter registration centre is provided by INEC.
The highlight of the event was a reception for some members of the APC who joined the Ilaka ambassadors.
