Ex Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has advised Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde on best way to handle the security lapses in the state.
According to Fayose, he asked Makinde to summon stakeholders meeting for a peace talk rather than
making an order for an arrest of an individual or group.
Fayose said, caution need to be applied in dealing with the security issue in Oyo, as attempt to arrest anyone might escalate the tension in southwest and the nation.
“Gov. Seyi Makinde should rather use dialogue and persuasion instead of escalating tensions in his own State by calling for the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo.
If FG and some Governors could ‘dialogue’ with Boko Haram terrorists, Gov. Makinde calling all stakeholders to a round-table discussion will not be misplaced action.
Any attempt to arrest anyone will cause serious threats to the fragile peace in the West and the nation. Above all any unchecked escalation may lead to a state of emergency.”
