Barrister Oyebisi Ilaka the Oyo Central Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party has sent condolences to the family, People of Iseyin and the government of Oyo state on the death of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Abdulganiyu Adekunle Salawu, Ajinese Ologunebi I.
Oba Salawu who reportedly died on Sunday , July 24, 2023 at University College Teaching hospital, Ibadan after a protracted illness, was a very respected Monarch.
Condoling with his family, the people of Iseyin and the governor of Oyo state, Ilaka in a statement noted that solace should be taken in the fact that the Oba lived a good life during which he contributed invaluably to the course of humanity and Iseyin land.
Ilaka paid glowing tribute to Oba Abdulganiyu for being a good leader who ruled with the fear of Allah, and joined the family and people of Iseyin to mourn the departed monarch.
The former Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, urged the family to be consoled in knowing that the Monarch lived to witness the successes Iseyin has achieved under the present administration in Oyo state.
The statement reads in part “ I received the news of the demise of Oba Dr. Abdulganiyu Adekunle Salau, Ajinese Ologunebi 1, the beloved Monarch of Iseyin land, a foremost Oba, not just in Oke Ogun, but Oyo state with sadness, I am however comforted that he lived a life dedicated to the service of humanity and Iseyin land.”
“ Oba Salawu was a strong pillar who loved Iseyin land, a devout Muslim who would be missed by all those whose lives he affected in many positive ways.”
The statement further quoted Ilaka as saying ” I grieve with the family of the late Oba at this period and I pray that God will grant all affected by his demise the courage to bear the loss, as I also pray for the repose of his soul”. May Allah grant Kabiyesi Al jannah firdaus.
Lastly, Ilaka noted that ” I Will miss the charm and grace Kabiyesi exhibited when he dealt with me and all that came across him” He added.
