The Lagelu traditional council have assured Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka the People’s Democratic Party Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central district of their unwavering support. The council expressed their support at a meeting he held at the Lagelu local government secretariat with the Traditional Council, Tuesday.
Addressing Ilaka on behalf the traditional council Onilalupon of Lalupon Oba Munirudeen Arigbabuwo Agbejinni I, affirmed the support of the council for Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, describing the PDP Senatorial candidate as a good man who will give proper representation to Oyo central at the Red Chamber. He said ” Your consistency in the political field, experience in both public and private sectors over the years and philanthropic gestures makes it imperative for us to support your senatorial bid, having understood the facts that you have the prerequisite knowledge to represent our district.”
He noted further, We will vote to ensure your victory this time, come February 2023, we are voting Ilaka as our Senator, with him we can look forward to a better transformation in Oyo central”. He stated further that Ilaka has the required experience to represent Oyo Central.
Baale Jagun, Baba Isiaka Akinpelu, the traditional secretary to Olubadan, Baale Agugu, Isiaka Ajisefini all members of the council who spoke at the meeting assured that Ilaka will present bills to end youth unemployment , inflation of commodity and insecurity affecting Oyo Central as well as promoting agricultural revolution.
Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem (a.k.a Gausu) Executive Chairman Lagelu Local government in his remarks at the meeting appreciated the traditional rulers, he explained to them the importance of the first election and how PDP plan to rescue Nigeria from the present challenges, he sought for their support to ensure victory for Chief Bisi Ilaka, Hon Adetokunbo Adeaga and all PDP candidates.
Equally, Hon Oladejo Success (Ilaka’s Director General campaign) noted that the essence of the meeting is to propagate PDP in Lagelu local government, he stressed the importance of voting PDP in all the 3 ballot papers come february 2023, he admonished all the traditional rulers to vote and also encourage their people to vote appropriately to avoid invalid votes. He urged them to vote for Ilaka as Senator and Hon Adeaga Adetokunbo as House of Representative member representing Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency.
In his remarks Ilaka, erstwhile Chief of Staff to governor Seyi Makinde, expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers for their support.
He noted that ” traditional institutions are not only permanent in their domain, but also highly revered, it is therefore important for me to meet with you and also intimate you with my plans for Oyo Central Senatorial district.
Speaking further he said ” the non performance of those who have represented us in the past makes it imperative for me to show interest in the race in other to correct this abnormality, I will ensure everyone is carried along with my programmes.” He added.
