Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, has congratulated RT. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin on his reelection as the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and other members-elect of the house on the successful inauguration of the 10th assembly.
In a congratulatory message released Thursday, Ilaka noted that Ogundoyin displayed exemplary leadership in his first term as a Speaker of the House, while forging a very cordial relationship with the executive, this according to him brought prosperity to residents of the state.
The former Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde said ” The emergence of Debo Ogundoyin as the speaker of the Oyo state assembly had demonstrated the importance of legislative experience and competence especially in a state like ours where legislative activities and governance are taking seriously.”
Ilaka who is the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom also congratulated the returning and new members, particularly members elect from Oyo federal constituency and Oyo Central Senatorial zone, that were sworn in and enjoined them to work together for the good of Oyo state in all their affairs.
The Oyo born politician urged the lawmakers to focus on their constitutional responsibilities and make enabling laws that will alleviate the suffering of the masses, and most importantly seek a better relationship with the Executive.
He also expressed the hope that Ogundoyin will work with his colleagues to better the achievements of the 9th assembly.
Ilaka, a lawyer and a tax consultant also congratulated all members on the successful inauguration of the 10th assembly.
Hon. Ogundoyin emergence followed Wednesday’s proclamation and inauguration of the 10th Assembly by Governor Seyi Makinde.
He and his deputy Hon Mohammed Fadeyi were returned unopposed by elect-members in the House after they emerged as the sole nominees for their respective positions.
