…Seeks Cooperation of PMS Officials With PTS
The Executive Chairman and Sole Administrator of Pacesetter Transport Service, Hon Ibraheem Salami Dikko has announced that Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the extension of Omitutun Mass Transit buses to other zones apart from Ibadan, the state capital where the buses were functioning.
Dikko who had since his appointment swung into actions revealed this development to newsmen after he held a peace parley meeting with stakeholders from Oyo State Park Management System (PMS) on the need to have harmonious working relationship with the operators of the buses at different parks across the state.
Hon. Dikko said the development will enhance urban mobility and provide a sigh of relief to the residents of the state adding that the initiative of the Governor will definitely give residents a different experience and transformative shift while boarding the busses in their day to day activities.
According to Hon Dikko, the peace parley held with officials of the Park Management System to ensure that the little issues arising from both the existing and new routes are ironed out and to return normalcy into the system. Additionally, the smooth take off of the Omituntun mass transit buses in other zones was aimed at averting clashes at different parks and to erase impressions that the buses will affect income of cab drivers.
The PTS boss added that the agency has also extended the routes in Ibadan metropolis for the masses to benefit from the goodwill of Governor Seyi Makinde and not to reduce the earnings of cab drivers at any parks.
He stressed that all stakeholders needed to be aware of all positive plans made by Governor Seyi Makinde to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal towards alleviating the transportation burden on residents of the state. His words:
“As an agency our aim is to ensure that all Stakeholders reach a common ground and forge ahead, we’ve created more routes, which are GATE- ALAKIA- ADEGBAYI, GATE -BASHORUN -AKOBO, GATE BEERE- MOLETE NEW GARAGE, BEERE-OLOMI OLUNDE, CHALLENGE APATA OMI ADIO, AROLA APETE MOKOLA, KUOLA ELEBU – NEW GARAGE CHALLENGE, ELEYELE SANGO BODIJA all these are in addition to the existing routes, carrying all residents and non residents along is key to the success of this latest development”.
“When I came in as the Chairman/Sole Administrator, I met few working buses, we swung into action and revived other buses, as at today we have 30 buses routing major areas in the state capital, we are also working on additional buses while observing other areas that might need our attention.
He urged residents to follow all guidelines on the newly created routes, so as to meet up with their day to day task, while enjoying the provisions of the State government in ensuring that they all have a hitch free transport experience.
