In a commendable display of collaboration, Oyo State lawmaker, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, and the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government area, Hon. Olaide Popopla Settle, paid a visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Hamzat Adebola, to express their appreciation for the Nigerian police’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in Oyo State.
During the visit, Hon. Waheed Akintayo praised the police for their relentless efforts in eradicating criminal elements, specifically addressing the issue of kidnapping in the Oluyole local government area. He also shared his plans to construct a state-of-the-art police station in his constituency, aiming to enhance the overall security of the region.
Highlighting the importance of community involvement in maintaining public safety, Hon. Akintayo emphasized the need for synergy between the police and the community. He believes that the responsibility of protecting lives and property should not rest solely on the shoulders of law enforcement.
Supporting this sentiment, Hon. Olaide Popoola Settle, Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, revealed that his administration has initiated the construction of two police stations in Afagbon and Oniganbari villages respectively, complementing the efforts of the police within the local council.
