Men of the Oduduwa Peoples Congress, OPC have announced the arrest of Fulani herdsman, Iskilu Wakili and some of his aides, alleged to have been terrorising residents of Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun zones in Oyo State.
According to reports, Wakili was arrested on Sunday morning in the forest he lives in and has been handed over to the Police in Aiyete for interrogation and more investigation.
The OPC leader, Chief Adedeji Oluwole who led the operation and confirmed the arrest to newsmen said he was surprised at how such an “aged” man could be perpetrating such criminal activities.
Oluwole said when they got to Wakili’s residence in the bush, his aides opened fire at them but they were able to escape unhurt and in the end, they arrested Wakili and 3 of his aides.
However, Wakili when interviewed by the men of the OPC denied perpetrating any criminal activities but one of his aides confirmed that they have firearms.
