A farmer Mr. Oluwole Agbooa who was kidnapped on 28 December, 2020 has been found dead after family affirmed the payment of a sum of #1.65m as ransom.
Mr. Agboola was abducted by six armed men who dressed in Army camouflage on his farm at Abaodo area of Olukitibi village of Akinyele local government.
It was gathered that the family of the deceased paid a ransom of 1.65 million to the kidnapper in order to secure his release but was later killed.
A brother to the deceased, Olakunle Agboola, also a journalist, confirmed the killing of the farmer to the Nigerian Tribune.
He said his brother was killed, and his body found 10 days after the ransom was paid by the family.
“My brother, Wole Agboola, was killed after a huge ransom was paid and we later found his body inside the bush near Aba Odo yesterday at 6.0 clock, just a bit close to where he was abducted,” Olakunle said.
It was gathered that operatives of the state police command had arrested some people in connection with the abduction.
The late Wole Agboola was a piggery and fishery farmer.
