One of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, challenging the incumbent Governor Engr Seyi Makinde, Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi has confirmed that governor Seyi Makinde has the party and the numbers to win the primaries and general elections.
Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi While given the opportunity to to address his Delegates, jokingly said, I’ve no delegates, what we have here are Governor Seyi Makinde’s Delegates, my Delegates have been chased away.
Speaking further he said, I’ve never had a thought of leaving this Party since inception, I’ve been a PDP member from the beginning and as an elder i can only guide the party so it doesn’t go the wrong way. I’ve talked to the governor severally but he wouldn’t listen, the crowd stood up in a chorus that Seyi will now listen, immediately the governor stood up and join him at the podium.
Barr. Gbolarumi said what is happening here today is what we call politics, it shows that the tenent of democracy stands in Oyo PDP, he urge members to deviate from anything that will paint the party in a bad light, saying Governor Seyi Makinde is our father, as human he’s not perfect, but let’s be bold enough to say the truth to power no matter what the circumstances maybe.
He raised Governor Seyi Makinde hands in confirming that he’s truly the leader and the Party’s choice, but admitted the fact that politics can only be exercise when democracy is strictly adhere to.
He call on party members to always protect the interest of the party first Before personal interest.
