In a surprising turn of events, Daniel Bwala, a prominent figure within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has unequivocally declared his unwavering support for the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu.
Despite his previous role as a vocal critic of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Tinubu’s governance, Bwala expressed his commitment to this unexpected alliance during a closed-door meeting with Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
Addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, Bwala made his stance clear, stating, “I told him today that I am committing to play my part to support your administration, and I have no apologies to anybody.”
This bold assertion underscores his determination to actively contribute to the success of the Tinubu-led government, irrespective of any prior affiliations or criticisms.
Pressed on the possibility of defecting to the APC, Bwala responded pragmatically, stating, “APC is a party. President Bola Tinubu is my motivation; if supporting him will take me to APC, so be it.”
This admission hints at the influential role Tinubu plays in shaping Bwala’s political allegiance, emphasizing personal conviction over party affiliations.
This announcement follows Bwala’s recent declaration, just a few days ago, where he asserted that opposition political parties must forge a robust coalition to effectively challenge the APC’s dominance in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The dynamic shifts in Bwala’s political stance underscore the fluidity of Nigeria’s political landscape, where alliances and affiliations are subject to change, driven by individual convictions and strategic considerations.
