The wife of the executive chairman of Ibadan north local government, Mrs Habeebat Yussuf has put smiles on the faces of the widows and indigents in the local government area by giving out food items, gas cookers and cash sum to assist them to enhance their standard of living.
According to the chairperson, the exercise was carried out in alliance with the Office of the First Lady, Mrs Omini Makinde who donated most of the items at the government house agodi before the official handing over of items to the beneficiaries at council secretariat agodi gate, ibadan.
The beneficiaries, who are mostly widows and women in need of assistance, were carefully selected.
About 12 of them from 12 wards in the council area gathered at the council secretariat, to be part of the auspicious exercise that would add value to their lives as well as support their means of livelihood.
The items distributed include food items, cash sum, among others.
Habeebat Yussuf urged the beneficiaries to use the gifts judiciously to improve themselves, and also reassured that the First Lady of oyo state will not relent on the course towards a better life for women and children in the state.
