An army officer from 244 Recce Base on Wednesday morning, unleashed mayhem on officials of Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), in Saki, Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
The army officer was infuriated by the action, he went to reinforce other officers, on arriving at the spot where the vehicle was impounded at OYRTMA’s office in Saki, the official who impounded the vehicle was beaten to stupor, patrol van belonging to OYRTMA was destroyed while their office was vandalized.
One of the OYRTMA officers who spoke with GOALPOACHER NEWS in Saki said the soldier is a notorious officer who usually violate traffic rules, adding that he always ordered the release of any traffic offenders who identify with him.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of OYRTMA, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi confirmed the incident to GOALPOACHER NEWS. He condemned the dastardly act describing it as barbaric. He assured that justice would be served irrespective of how highly placed such army officer he is.
Fagbemi noted that the OYRTMA officer who was brutalized has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
