An Ally of Governor Seyi Makinde, Benedict Akika has bagged the highest award from the Muslim community “Dahirat Shafihiyah Ibrohimiyah Fil Toriiqot Tijaniyah”, led by Mukadam Abdulrazaq AFOLABI in a ceremony to Celebrate Maulud Nabiyy in Ibadan.
The award was in recognition of his many community services, developmental Strides, Contributions and Support for Islam in his environ over the last couple of months.
In attendance were Mr Mojeed Olalekan Salau, Chief Imam of Omi Tuntun Mosque, Oyo State PDP Woman Leader, Alhaji Wulemot Omowunmi Ibitoye, Members of Omi Tuntun Benedict Forum, Akinyele/Lagelu PDP Members, Hon Wole Akinleye, friends and well-wishers.
Mr Benedict Akika who said he recieve the award with joy, Appreciate the Muslim Community for recognizing his impact, while admonishing them for being honest in their dealings. He also use the opportunity to appeal to everyone irrespective of their religion to contribute to the development of mankind, while preaching peace, saying lets always see ourselves as one, together we can move mountains.
He said Our Governor has always preach peace in our coexistence, today Ibadan is one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria, when we talk about religious coexistence, he has also demonstrated that in his appointments and in giving listening ears to all religion without favouring one for the other, lets remain our brothers keeper, while we strive to develop our dear State.
