The Oluyole Chairmanship race is the most talked about in resent times, probably because of the once two jolly brothers who once work hand-in-hand together, but turn the opposite direction as the race for the Oyo 2024 local government election draws near.
Hon. Akeem Olatunji the erstwhile Public relations officer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) resigned his position he has held since 2018, pick up his interest and nominations form in preparation for the one of the most intriguing political moves in recent times, Hon. Akeem Olatunji known for his party man politics, has either relinquish position when you think it’s all his, or he’s pressured to do so at the wee hours.
One thing you can’t take from him is his spirit of brotherliness, never a time has a ticket taken from him, or he relinquish it by himself that he fails to work with the candidate, what amazes about his character is how he immediately team up with the eventual candidate, he will fight with all his arsenal to ensure victory without bad blood, a complete gentle whose approach about team work in next to none, reasons he has manage a once ‘SIWES BOY’ advance them to be the GSM ADVOCATES who propagate the good works of Governor Seyi Makinde across the length and breath of Oyo State.
At a time many people think the whole bruhaha will end up the same way, adding to the fact that he’s contesting against the incumbent Chairman Hon. Settle Olaide, with both men dividing the leaders and Stakeholders to their side in an imbroglio that lasted for 4 weeks, Governor Seyi Makinde swung the tide in support of Hon. Akeem Olatunji.
Hon. Settle Olaide Popoola fought the battle with all his chest and won gallantly as a worior but didn’t won the race despite being the incumbent. This draws the writers mind to the Bible, according to the book of Ecclesiastes 9:11 tells us “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong…” This means that even if you are not the smartest, strongest, most knowledgeable or best looking in the natural, God can still give you good success when you depend on His grace.
Just this morning Hon. Settle Olaide Popoola showed his spirit of sportsmanship by accepting the will of the Party and the stands of His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, in his word “To my Egbon of life Engr Akeem Olatunji, its a well deserved victory.

With this the Stakeholders only need to affirm the candidature of Hon. Akeem Olatunji as the Only contender for the Chairmanship position for Oluyole Local Government.
