The Chairman House Committee on Information, Media, Public Affairs and ICT in the Oyo House of Assembly, Honourable Waheed Akintayo has stressed the need for synergy and mutual working relationship between the Assembly correspondents and the lawmakers, urging them to promote the activities of the 10th Assembly through quality reportage.
The Lawmaker who represents Oluyole constituency gave the charge during a meeting with the correspondents on Monday, saying the development was aimed at charting a good course for the legislators and the Correspondents.
Hon. Akintayo while commending the resident journalists for their contributions to the progress and development of the Assembly since its inauguration said good working relationship and synergy between the two parties would no doubt pave way for more progress.
The legislator fondly addressed as Ilumoka presenter assured the correspondents of mutual and robust working relationship capable of promoting activities of the Assembly members and enhance their reportage.
According to him, round table meeting where the committee members and the correspondents sit together to discuss progress issues would always be considered for the development of the two parties.
“I really want to commend your efforts and contributions to the progress of the 10th Assembly, you are indeed partners in progress, and we want to assure you of our support anytime you call for it, especially on your welfare among others.
“The Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin is much concerned on your welfare and he is working round the clock to improve on it.
Also speaking, the vice chairman of the committee, Honourable Akintunde Olajide who represents Lagelu Constituency, thanked the correspondents for their cooperation and quality reportage, assuring that the leadership of the Assembly would do everything possible to support them.
Hon Akintunde said the already established synergy between the lawmakers and the correspondents will no doubt go a long way to promote and foester good working relationship between the Assembly and the correspondents.
Speaking earlier, chairman of the Assembly correspondent, Mr Mosope Kehinde of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan thanked the lawmakers and assured them of professionalism of the
correspondents in the reportage.
He appealed to them to support the correspondents necessary tools that will aid their reportorial activities.
