Igbos residing in Oyo Central Senatorial district has promised to mobilise and ensure all round Victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
The Omituntun Igbo community made this known during their visit to the candidate senatorial office on Wednesday.
While expressing their endorsement for the candidature of former Oyo Chief of Staff, Omituntun Igbo Movement State coordinator, Chief Tallest Innocent, affirmed their readiness to mobilize extensively across polling units, wards to ensure landslide victory for Ilaka and all PDP candidates.
He noted that they are prepared to step up their contributions to the political landscape of Oyo Central, the same way they have been unrelenting in investing in critical sectors in the State, adding that accelerated development achievement of Engr Seyi Makinde has made Oyo State the home away from home to the Igbos and that despite opposition parties shenanigans against Makinde’s led administration, he continues to date investors as well as making Oyo State the food basket of the Nation.
Also, Mr. Nwani Cajethan added that “our support for Bisi Ilaka remains unshaken, we understand the fact that he knows where the shoe pinches. Many families are crying, some can’t afford 3square meal per day, some children are out of school because of money, we believe Oloye Bisi Ilaka will represent us accordingly, present bills that will reduce poverty, Inflation of commodity, education advancement, economy development and other dividends of democracy”

While appreciating the Igbo community for finding him worthy of recognition and honour, Oyo born politician, Chief Bisi Ilaka described them as “unique people, industrious, hardworking and resourceful”.
He promised to run an all-inclusive and people-centred representation, where every constituents, irrespective of tribe and religion is carried along in the developmental journey of Oyo Central and the State at large
“We shall never take your trust for granted. This trust is a huge challenge to us. We shall ensure that we repay this trust by frontally addressing our developmental challenges and strengthening the people’s faith in democracy”, Ilaka assured.

The senatorial candidate also held similar meeting with the traditional Institution.
