The People’s Democratic Party Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial zone, Chief Oyebisi Ilaka, has reiterated his committment towards ensuring that youth development becomes a national discourse.
Ilaka stated this in an interactive session with a cross section of youths, under the auspices of Youth Arise Movement in Oyo Central, who paid him a courtesy call at his Kolapo Ishola residence recently.
The Oyo-born politician highlighted the sort of Youth Development programs that he will promote amongst the youth in Oyo Central. He said” I will be looking forward to promoting youth development arrangements which are aptitude-enhancing programs designed to provide our youth with useful skills as they participate in training in their fields of interest, so as to give them a head start in life.”
He noted further ” My plans are way beyond giving Okada to youths as empowerment, but rather to create an opportunity for youths in Oyo Central to have life-long skills.”
Ilaka, a lawyer and a tax consultant, also reiterated his readiness not only to help build the youths, but also create avenues for them to learn techniques to manage future challenges.
Earlier, the youths, led by their president, Karim Adeola Ogunsola, asserted that Ilaka is the candidate of choice in the coming election. They noted that it was obvious that out of all the candidates working to represent Oyo Central at the Red Chamber, he was the only one with the requisite experience and exposure to address the challenges of the youths in Oyo Central.
Ogunsola called on youths in Oyo Central to take advantage of the on-going INEC voters registration, to get their voters card and vote for Ilaka in the coming elections.
