Yesterday, the Department of State Services (DSS) apprehended Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, better known as Auxiliary, the former Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS).
Recall that TODAY SPLASH reported that Auxiliary was arrested around 4:00 pm on Tuesday at his residence in the Olodo area of Ibadan, the state capital.
While the exact motives for his arrest remain undisclosed by the authorities, sources suggest a possible connection to an interview he granted on Saturday, May 4.
In the interview, conducted in Yoruba by media personnel Ajibola Akinyefa, Auxiliary criticized Seye Famojuro, an associate of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, holding him accountable for his challenges.
Auxiliary refuted allegations of involvement in violent activities, questioning the absence of police reports against him. He also hinted at Famojuro’s eventual departure from Ibadan, implying it wasn’t his native land.
His previous arrest in May 2023 followed alleged unrest instigated by his supporters after the dissolution of the PMS committee by Governor Makinde. Although he evaded arrest during the raid, he was subsequently declared wanted.
Efforts to reach DSS spokesperson Peter Afunnaya were unsuccessful as calls remained unanswered, and text messages went unacknowledged.
