In a surprising turn of events, the Senate has confirmed the Kaduna State nominee, Abbas Balarabe, who fainted during his screening on Wednesday. Alongside Balarabe, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande were also confirmed as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively.
The Senate chamber was thrown into pandemonium when Balarabe suddenly collapsed while sharing his experiences, just 15 minutes into his screening. Kaduna South senator, Sunday Katung, who was discussing Balarabe’s administrative background, was interrupted by Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s urgent call for assistance.
After a brief interruption, Balarabe was rushed to the National Assembly clinic for medical attention. Once the situation was under control, the Senate reconvened and proceeded to confirm all three nominees.
These nominations, sent by President Bola Tinubu, have captivated the nation with their unexpected twists and turns. The resilience and determination demonstrated by the confirmed ministerial nominee have left Nigerians in awe.
