The leader of Egbeda Legislative House, Hon Ibrahim Oladebo Simple has raised an alarm over what he described as an ‘illegal attempt’ to remove him from office.
Speaking at a press conference held in the council Secretariat on Wednesday, Hon Simple who represents Alakia-Olode Ward 10 said he uncovers the impeachment plots when few legislative members held a meeting at a particular beer parlour where they allegedly pronounced him impeached.
He, therefore, warned members of the legislative house and their sponsor, a failed politician not to parade themselves, noting that their actions could be described as a total disregard of democratic norms adding that any attempt to cause unrest among members will be resisted.
Speaking with Goalpoacher News reporter on the phone, the Chairman of Oyo State ALGON, Hon Sikiru Sanda said he was shocked to hear the rumour of the impeachment of the Speaker of Egbeda Legislative House, Hon Ibrahim Oladebo Simple.
Hon Sanda admitted he knew nothing about the impeachment and that such an embarrassment and show of shame will never be tolerated under his watch.
He warned those orchestrating such an unrest and those trying to foment troubles in the council to quickly retrace their steps and halt any attempt to impeach the House Leader to bury the thought or face the wrath of the law.
Hon Sanda called on security agents to maintain peace and order, urging them to arrest anyone seen creating chaos in the council.
According to Hon Sanda, Egbeda remains one of the most peaceful councils in the state adding that he as the Executive Chairman of the council has been enjoying a cordial working relationship with the legislative arm which he admonished to continue for the betterment of the local government.
