It was a very colorful event last thursday, as youth of the People’s Democratic Party across Oyo state converged not only to celebrate democracy and governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde Executive Governor of Oyo but also to have intellectual engagement amongst themselves and some party leaders.
The event was the maiden edition of the Youth Engage 0.1 with the theme Inform, Think And Act. Through out the program the youth were informed and ignited to think and act towards the 2023 elections.
Oyo Youth Engage 0:1, did not only Inspire the youths to pursue lofty political aspirations, it also presented them with an opportunity to think outside the box. At the youth Engage 0.1 the People’s Democratic Party Youth of Oyo state had a positive paradigm shift.
The event which was organized by the Youth wing of the Party led by Hon. Michael Ogunsina, had Prince Adebowale Falana as the Chairman of the organising Committee, the gathering turned out to be everything expected of a Youth assemblage. From speeches, panel discussion, entertainment, foods, drinks to lively interactive sessions were all in the mix that made the event memorable.
In all even cynics will agree that Hon. Micheal Ogunsina, Prince Falana Adebowale and other committee members did a good job. Youth Engage 0 1 was a bodaciously successful experience .
In their separate remarks to kickstart the event Hon. Michael Ogunsina and Prince Falana Adebowale, PDP State youth leader and Chairman organising Committee respectively, while welcoming participants commended the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his tremendous support towards making sure the event is a success.
The Chairman of the Party in the state Hon. Dayo Ogunbenro in his brief remarks urged the youth to always conduct themselves peacefully when seeking resolutions to issues, stressing that governor Seyi Makinde and the party have great plans for the youth.
The commissioner for Youths and Sports Oyo state, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede who was the special guest of honor, at the event described Governor Seyi Makinde as a leader who is deliberate and consistent with his interest for the youth, while he called on the youth to appreciate the governor with their continuous support for his administration.
The highlight of the event was the Panel session with the theme ” The reward For Party Loyalty as it concerns the the Youth sector. Are youths actually getting rewarded”.
Most of the participants who spoke to news men after the events commended the state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for the support his administration has given to the youth particularly in the areas of appointments, they however noted that there is still more to be done. Hon. Michael Ogunsina PDP state youth leader and Prince Falana Adebowale the chairman of the Youth Engage 0.1 were also commended for doing a wonderful job with the organization of the event. They expressed the hope that events of this nature should be held annually.
The event was well attended by important government functionaries including the Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, Members of the state House of Assembly, and government appointees, others are PDP youth across the state, student union associations and youths from all walks of life.
